Nevil (Bunny) Pearce Memorial Tribute
This is a Memorial Tribute for Nevil (Bunny) Pearce
Nevil Pearce, affectionately known as Bunny, was born on January 24, 1960. He was the son of Palmetta Lettman and Windel Pearce. Bunny maintained dual residences in New York where he worked, and Sheffield, where he maintained a beautiful home, on the same land where he lived and played as a child and young adult.
A tragic, senseless act, on January 6, 2017, left him on life support, battling for life in a private hospital in Montego Bay. He fought bravely, but was unable to stabilize, and hold on long enough for the transfer to a trauma center in Florida. He left us quietly and peacefully, on the afternoon of January 10, 2017, with Pauline his loving wife at his bedside.
He is sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline, his Mom and Dad, his six children, Kayle, Neo, Steffie, Daryl, Kareem, and Asanne. He is also survived by six brothers, Calvin, Elvis, Ronald, Robert, Clive and Paul, three sisters, Delannie (Cherry), Lorna, and Marcia. Bunny had a loving and large extended family, with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts, who also miss him.
Bunny had a hearty, infectious laugh, that could make any sad person perk up, with a smile of their own. He was so selfless, generous, and caring. He never ceased to be a true humanitarian. That's one reason why he was in Jamaica at this time of year. He had a humanitarian outreach, that he went to Jamaica to participate in, with other community members. He did this faithfully for many years. That was part of his stress free vacation, on the Island, in his childhood hometown of Sheffield.
The Community of Sheffield is now mourning the loss of a true son of Westmoreland. Bunny is also lovingly missed by many close, long time friends, Pat, Michael Brydson, Debbie, Marvia, Jolly Hewitt, Paula, Mary, Valrie, Beverly Brown, Congeta, Marcia, Ernie, Wamba, Cecil, Orville, Milton, Everton... Soo many names to remember or mention here, so these are just a few of the many people who grew up in his circle of influence.
Please write your tribute in the comments section below, so we can see the names of all of his friends and acquaintances.
An autopsy will be performed by the Medical Examiner in Jamaica. As soon as the date for the Memorial Service is available, we will post the details, here and on our Facebook page, for everyone who wish to travel to the homegoing service, and celebration for Bunny's life.
